“There is no substitute for victory”
Trainer Adrianne DeVaux is the vivid image of the well-known phrase of General Douglas McCarthur, which characterized Venezuelan turfman Germán Balza Altuve, as his main premise.
Devaux made his debut on the right foot when his pupil SHOOT THE NICKEL won the second Aqueduct under Katie Davis.
Adrianne is a sister to fellow trainer Cherie DeVaux, with whom she has worked for the past four years.
She currently has several horses from the stable of Al Gold, who has had to reposition his horses following the announcement of the retirement of trainer Chad Summers. Among them is Howard Wolowitz, who moved to the stable of Jose Francisco D’Angelo, winning the Franklin-Simpson at Kentucky Downs in his debut in the Venezuelan’s stable.
DeVaux plans to stay in New York until the end of October and then move to Fair Grounds.
